The Importance of Using Positive Self Talk Statements
The Importance of Positive Self Talk Statements
When we were children we were told no you can’t do that or you shouldn’t try because you might fail. As we got older our teachers and parents stopped us from making risky choices and kept telling us why we cannot expect to accomplish certain things in our lives. With all these limiting subconscious messages that permeates society, is it any wonder why we struggle with fear, anxiety and low self-esteem? Instead of using “positive self talk statements”, we automatically react to challenges with the negative self. If left uncontrolled we allow Mr. Negative to self talk us to death and we wander through life as a victim without reaching success.
What Can Positive Self Talk Statements do for You?
Using positive self talk statements is about taking charge of your life and changing the response to your inner dialogue. It can be challenging because Mr. Negative’s self talk sabotages our efforts to think highly of ourselves. Let me ask you, do you often imagine a bad outcome before getting started with something? Are you in fear of something that is not even present? This is all because we have low self confidence. When you start actively using positive self talk statements you will quickly realize the level of negative dialogue that permeates our minds. It’s almost scary, but also refreshing when you fully recognize the power we have if we control our mind and the way we think and talk about ourselves through positive self talk statements.
We are all like captains steering our own ship. Each of us can navigate our lives by how we think and talk about achieving our goals. By using positive self talk statements and making it a daily success habit we can reprogram our minds for success, become more confident and reach our true God given potential.
How to Use Positive Self Talk Statements
Always make your positive self talk statements in the present tense. Start out by saying I am, or I can. Then make sure to pause, visualize and emotionalize your positive affirmations. It is also vital to express gratitude for what you have and what you are about to receive. Taking these steps opens the door to recieving great results in our lives.
There are several different categories that you want to focus on when making positive self talk statements. I recommend using as many as necessary, with as many self talk affirmations as you can think of.
Examples of categories with affirmations:
Confidence – I am confident and can accomplish my daily goals; I am a winner; I am a successful entrepreneur.
Wealth and Prosperity – I attract money; I use money wisely; Making money comes easily to me.
Health – I feel great today; I love the taste of fruits and vegetables; I eat what my body needs for optimal health.
When Should You Use Positive Self Talk Statements?
I recommend using positive self talk statements as much as possible. They don’t always have to be verbal, they can be just inner positive affirmations. Making this a daily habit charts a new course for your life. Whenever life ‘happens’ to us and that evil Mr. Negative pops up, we can squash him with repeated positive self talk statements! My favorite times for verbally expressing my positive affirmations are when I am driving, taking a shower and in my office alone. I even sing my affirmations to popular songs . such as, “I feel good.like I know that I should.” At least the cops can’t prove I was talking on my cell phone.
Who said you can’t have fun with this!
You need to use positive self talk statements consistently to begin with. As you turn this into one of your daily success habits that you cannot do without, you will see a remarkable change in your life. Please check out my blog for more positive mindset articles.
